Hey Guys,
Happy New Year 2008.
Get out those dancin' shoes cause we're not gonna let you sit out another year.
Thanks to everyone who came to my Holiday Party.
I think we can call it a success. Over 300 of you showed up to party and dance ...
AND
filled the entry way with groceries ...
over 200 bags ... and $101.00 in contributions... GREAT JOB.
It was held at the friendly, Little Texas, thanks to Patty.
It was advertised that the food was going to Beans and Bread but a last minute glitch on the soup kitchen's part had us
force a change, so the full amount of groceries went to the Helping Up Mission Homeless Shelter ... and the $101.00 went to
Beans and Bread.
Diane donated some door prizes ... won by John ...
We raffled off some George Strait concert tickets won by Mary C. ...
The Kiwanis Club was there with Instant Bingo's proceeds
going to the Burn Unit at JHBMC ...
The band, Severn Run was great ...
The DJ, Mark Hemler was fabulous ...
The food from Anita's Kitchen was delicious ...
and your desserts were plentiful.
Thanks to Cathy T's son David for working the door.
It was such a pleasure being there with all of you wonderfully generous people.
If you are too timid to dance next time at least come out and socialize ...
If any one has any photos of the night, please get in touch with me cause I was having such a good time, I forgot to take
them myself. Some photos from Nadine are already posted on the website.
We have CONCERT TICKETS for sale below,
Both George Strait and Toby Keith ...
REMEMBER ... every Monday, Linda updates her very extensive "What's happening and where to dance " info page
on our Website ... and it's FREE to use
http://www.friendsofcountrydance.com/
Hey ... not doing anything on Thursday nights?
Roz and Nat are teaching and DJing at the Cancun Cantina. Nice crowd.
Why don't we meet them there one thursday?
Our friend Bill Braun is teaching and DJing at the Richlin Ballroom on Monday nights with a great crowd, good food and
a lot of old friends.
We could meet there too.
There's more info about the weekly events on the website.
Steve Moody's new website info is below ...
NO SMOKING at bars and clubs starts February 1st ...
you will have to get a new reason not to show up at our events :)
All kiding aside ... this is a transition time for your favorite dance places and they will need your support and participation
to keep them open and operating.
Tell them you are there for them by showing up.
Classifieds on our website are posted free to our readers ... check it out.
This question is for me. Would any of you like to meet me for church one
Sunday at 11:00 am? More info below.
Introduce a friend to our group this week. Sign up a new member.

Hey Guys,
This year has flown by.
It's been a strange, exhausting one for me. How about you?
I haven't had any time to keep up on the newsletter ...
(and you thought I took you off the list :)
although I have been able to update the website every week thanks to Linda Bloyer's really great info page ... you really
should visit it.
I'm having my annual Holiday Party on December 29th.
I would so love to see you all. I so miss you.
You'd be the charge in my batteries.
The info is at the bottom.
We'll be dancing to a Live band and a DJ this year along with several other surprises
maybe even a raffle for some George Strait tickets, if you weren't able to get any for his show next month ... we'll see.
I'd appreciate if you would be so kind as to spread the word to all of our old friends who have fallen by the wayside
and have stopped dancing. Maybe you could call them or forward this email and request they come ... even if they won't dance
they can socialize, right?
BUT ...
what it's all about really is GENEROSITY.
This is our way of making a difference in our world.
Can you imagine going to bed hungry ... then imagine that feeling night after night.
It makes me want to cry.
We can have FUN ... have FRIENDSHIPS and FUND RAISE the groceries for "Beans and Bread" ... everybody wins.
Be generous with the groceries but don't include glass items.
Also ... if you are going to be there and have a van and would be willing to volunteer to deliver the food to the soup
kitchen I'd like to hear from you so we can set up the times.
Thanks!!!
Please check it out ... and say yes.

Barbara Fisher
I receieved the following info from Fred and Ro:
Barbara Fisher, who dances with us (Fred and Ro) on Tuesdays and Fridays, and Steve on Wednesdays...was in intensive
care at the University of Maryland Medical Center. It seems that Friday afternoon she had gone to a movie with her granddaughter
and while there became quite sick.
Her granddaughter ran to get help and an ambulance was called. She was initially taken to Baltimore Washington Medical
Center and subsequently transferred to her present location. She is being operated on this morning for an aneurysm on her
brain with some bleeding. It is expected she will be hospitalized for 2-3 weeks. Cards and notes can be sent to Barbara
Barbara Fisher, Room 714, University of Maryland Medical Center, 22 S. Green Street, Baltimore, MD 21201. Because she
is in intensive care she cannot have flowers
Your positive thoughts and prayers are requested for Barbara, her husband Ron and their family. Barbara is a wonderful,
fun-loving person. She recently retired as the Election Director for Anne Arundel County. A photo of Barbara is on our
website (FredAndRo.com at "2007 Cruise to Maine - Canada," photo 121 - she is dancing with Ro.
-Christmas Party Dinner/Dance December 21, 2007
Please join us for our anual Christmas dinner/dance on Friday night December 21, 2007 from 7-11PM. This event will be
limited to 100 people... with tickets going on sale the first week of December. (they can be purchased at any of our weekly
dance nights)
Tickets will only be on sale until Tuesday December 18th...no last minute admissions as we need to know how much food
to purchase.
The admission price of $10.00 includes fried chicken, snacks, and soft drinks in addition to all of the good eats brought
by everyone else to our Pot Luck! (A sign up sheet will be available when you purchase your tickets so that you may see what
everyone is bringing, when making the decision for your contribution.)
Be sure to bring your camera for this special night...as Santa will be stopping by again this year for fun and pictures.
In addition, for those that would like to participate in our funny gift exchange game...please bring a small wrapped gift.
Please keep in mind that the gift should be for either gender, and that this is a "family" night. This game is
a riot...but it is not not mandatory to participate.
-Monday Night at the Easton Elks
You guys have been doing great with Charanga...and I think we are ready to move on to "Firecracker" this coming
week...if we still need a quickie walkthrough on Charanga..I am sure that it can be arranged..I know the instructor..ha ha
ha. Earlier on in the night we will also do an easier dance that is a lot of fun...it goes to the 70's disco song "Get
Down Tonight".
Pictures from our Halloween Party are now up at www.DancingWithSteveMoody.com they can be found in the "Lighter
Side" tab across the top of the page.
-Tuesday Night at the Easton Elks.
I am so impressed with you all....You guys have been doing a great job...We have learned a ton of dances in a very very
short time.
So far we have learned:
Bartender Stomp
Down and Dirty
Cotton Eyed Joe
and Cut a Rug
Got To Be Funky
16 Step
Canadian Stomp
Watermelon Crawl
This Little Light
D.H.S.S.
This week we will go over "Yee Haw", and add "Kool Dance"
Dance videos are available this week for purchase....they turned out great...and will surely be very helpful for some
folks....the first 2 videos I have put together include:
Beginer's Session Volume #1
Bartender Stomp
Down N Dirty
Cut A Rug
Beginner's Session Volume #2
Got To Be Funky
Canadian Stomp
Watermelon Crawl
Beginner's Session Volume #3
This Little Light
Tush Push
D.H.S.S.
Beginner's Session Volume #4
Yee Haa
Kool Dance
Jitterbuggin'
At this point they are only available on VHS...I will have a TV set up on Tuesday night so you can actually see the product.
$12.00 each.
Pictures from our Halloween Party are now up at www.DancingWithSteveMoody.com they can be found in the "Lighter
Side" tab across the top of the page.
-Wednesday Night at La Fontaine Bleu
It was great to see everyone back after the Holiday. We had a really nice crowd this past week.
We have been working on "Here and Now" for the past 2 weeks and will do one more review this coming week. Earlier
in the night at the 6:30 lesson we shared a really cute easier dance called "Get Down Tonight"..which we will also
go over this week.
If you haven't been to the Bleu for a while be sure to check it out...it is now La Fontaine Bleue and not Bleu...huge
changes on the way here...they have started their 1st of 3 waves of re-modeling. I am told that when it is done...the outside
and inside will both look like a brand new building.
There have been many rumors ....that this will cause major changes to our dancing...or that we may even be cancelled....I
HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING OF THE SORT. As far as I know everything will continue as it is currently. I will certainly let
you know if I hear anything different.
Pictures from our Halloween Party are now up at www.DancingWithSteveMoody.com they can be found in the "Lighter
Side" tab across the top of the page.
**NEW Thursday Night at Denton Vol. Fire Hall
(15-Week Beginners' Session)

This new class will have the same format and run simultaneously with our Tuesday Night Begginner Session at the Easton
Elks which will begin that same week.
Dancing begins at 7 p.m. and the evening runs until 8:30 p.m., which provides plenty of time for lessons and open dancing
to the dances taught during previous weeks.
The $6.00 admission price includes unlimted soft drinks, and ice water.
There is no need to register or sign up anywhere in advance — you just show up and take the lessons. Folks under
the age of 21 are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.

Hi There Ron,
Most of you know that I have participated in the Ride Across Maryland every year with the Semites on Bikes motorcycle
club. This year's going to be a bit different - I'm riding with a new team - TheBikerSpot.com. And instead of asking you to
donate (although, hey, I'll never turn down a nice donation), I'm asking you to join my team and ride to Ocean City with me.
The ride isn't until the May 31, 2008, so we have lots of time to plan and take time off from work - no excuses (unless you
happen to be getting ready for a June wedding, in which case, feel free to donate ... tee hee).
The money we raise goes to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research. We can have a rockin' time, and do
some good at the same time!
I realize it seems like June is far off, but rooms at the Francis Scott Key Resort will go quickly, and it would be great
if we could all be in the same building (Delaware). Registration for the ride is quick and easy (and only $30 per person).
Please think about joining the ride – we’ve had a great time every year. If you need help registering
or personalizing your page, give me a call or drop me an email. Just follow the link on the bottom of this page to my personal
donation page. At the top of that page is a link for my team page – go there and click join this team.
Thanks, and I look forward to partying with ya’ in June!!
Sincerely,
Nadine
P.S. You don’t have to join The Biker Spot to be on the team, but you might want to take a look at that site
as well – it’s a great place to network with other’s who have similar interests …
mainly bikes! www.TheBikerSpot.com
